Win two nights at Westin Whistler with Sweatin ‘for Science – Peace Arch news

The largest fundraising campaign of the Science Fair Foundation BC, Sweatin ’for Science Space Edition presented by AbCeller, offers you the opportunity to win a two-day stay at Whistler’s Westin Resort and Spa.

All entrants to Sweatin ‘for Science automatically sign up to win the grand prize, but can also get additional entries by following @sweatinforscience on Instagram, liking the post announcing the grand prize, tagging friends and sharing it in their stories.

There are other prizes to be awarded to the best fundraisers and those who cover a further distance during the month of May.

The Science Fair Foundation BC has set a goal of $ 100,000, which is slightly more than twice the amount raised last year. So far, just a few days in the campaign, they are well on their way to achieving that goal.

As part of the challenge, participants measure miles by doing a variety of activities, from running, dancing and walking to climbing and rowing, and can ask friends and family to pledge money if they achieve their activity goals.

“The goal of Sweatin ‘for Science is to break down barriers to access to STEM education. We are excited to have so many great partners and sponsors this year and, with their help, we will be able to reach more young people this year with our programs and resources, ”said Madeleine Guenette, Executive Director of The Science Fair Foundation BEFORE CHRIST.

The second annual Fitness ‘FUNdraiser’ held across the BC and Yukon encourages participants to dedicate a month of fun, fitness challenges and fundraising from peers for the benefit of youth programs and resources.

The funds raised support educational programs and opportunities in 13 regions across the BC and Yukon to nurture, inspire and uplift youth. This includes opportunities for financial assistance to young people to develop their ideas and / or attend events outside their home communities, and gives young people access to a mentoring program so that they can better understand their projects.

For the past 21 years, the Science Fair Foundation BC has set the pace in the knowledge race through community participation with the now retired Science Fair Fun Run. Join the Sweatin ‘for Science team in May 2022 as they will’ sweat ‘in stand-alone and programmed fitness challenges. You can register as an individual, family, group of friends, or corporate team.

This year’s program will include the opportunity to participate in weekly stand-alone fitness challenges and live fitness programs with an ‘out of the world’ turnaround led by fitness experts from across the BC and Yukon.

The Sweatin ‘for Science event app via partner atlasGO allows you to sync your favorite fitness tracker or manually enter your exercise activities online or via their iOS and Android compatible apps. Don’t forget to take your photos of yourself ‘sweating’ to add them to the sweaty selfie page of the event app and your own content on social media. Don’t forget to tag #sweatinforscience @sweatinforscience
