SQUAD Art Studio and Keys Montessori School presented their first joint exhibition at the Kipp Gallery in Sprowls Hall on the IUP campus. The exhibition presents the works of children aged 6 months to 6 years in the SQUAD Art Studio and in collaboration with SQUAD and the Keys Montessori School.
The exhibition runs until Saturday, when the final reception will be held from 3 to 4 p.m.
The exhibition marks the fifth year of the SQUAD Art studio. SQUAD is an alternative multi-community Saturday school for young children. SQUAD offers artistic experiences with traditional and digital media processes for children and their carers in community environments across the region. SQUAD has partnered with the Artists Hand Gallery to offer a seasonal series of personal art experiences with the help of IUP art educators and art education faculties.
Founded in 1977, Keys Montessori School is a preschool and kindergarten environment aimed at children in which children have the freedom to choose their work at their own pace using materials that involve all their senses.
The exhibition includes a variety of individual, collaborative, mixed and digital media works by children. It is free and open to the public.
