A small case of a false identity occurred in Miami on Sunday.
Martin Brundle of Sky Sports is known for his famous online walks before the Formula 1 GP race: often equal parts are chaotic and funny, and Sunday’s online walk was no exception.
Miami’s inaugural Grand Prix on Sunday hosted some of America’s greatest athletes: tennis star Serena Williams, socialite Paris Hilton, basketball legends Michael Jordan and Dwyane Wade and, of course, Chiefs superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
Brundle caught up with Patrick Mahomes before the start of the race to capture his thoughts on the race:
I can promise you it’s not Patrick Mahomes pic.twitter.com/lGblrziQRO

Oh… Wait a minute! That’s not Patrick Mahomes! This is Duke Blue Devils basketball star Paolo Banchero!

Luckily, Brundle caught up with some athletes he recognized, including the elusive football legend David Beckham who finished his walk.

Given that F1 is coming to the United States later in the year for their second Grand Prix 2022 and coming to Las Vegas for the third GP 2023, Brundle should make up for some “SportsCenter” to make sure mixing of this nature won’t be that no. repeat.
