Bayern Munich are interested in the arrival of Liverpool striker Sadi Mane this summer, reports Sky Germany.
Although there was no official dialogue between the two clubs, Bayern sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic met with the 30-year-old’s agent over the weekend.
Mane is under contract until 2023, but talks on a possible new deal have yet to follow, and Liverpool said it is focusing on linking negotiations with Mohamed Salah – whose current terms also expire in 2023.
The Senegalese national team player made 47 appearances in all competitions for Jurgen Klopp’s team in this term and scored 21 goals.
Mane had previously been linked with leaving Anfield, and speculation about his Liverpool future sparked interest from Real Madrid before he signed new terms for Merseyside in November 2019.
After a 2-2 draw against Stuttgart on Sunday night, Salihamidzic, when asked if there would be a big-name transfer to Bayern, said: “Let yourself be surprised.
“We need to see what is possible and what is not. We have creative ideas.”
Liverpool, who are currently three points behind Premier League leader Manchester City, declined to comment.
They visit Aston Villa on Tuesday, live Sky Sports, with the aim of bridging the gap on Pep Guardiola’s side before competing in the FA Cup final with Chelsea at Wembley on Saturday.
