It took a while, but it was finally confirmed that Roman Reigns was part of the match at WrestleMania Backlash. He will join The Usos to meet Drew McIntyre and RK-Broom in a six-player team match that promises to be fireworks.
Despite so many champions being in the ring together in this match, nothing will be at stake on Sunday. But that doesn’t mean it’s nothing. In fact, tensions between the two teams have been simmering in recent weeks.
The tribal chief has ruled as a champion for almost two years. During that time, he met opponents ranging from Brock Lesnar to Daniel Bryan, and at the time he wasn’t nailed down. However, fans are confident that Scottish Warrior will be the one to give Reigns his first hit in a while.
The question arises as to whether the WWE should do the unthinkable and force the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion to take the pin in the match. In this regard, we present two reasons for and against it.
# 4. Why Roman Reigns should be pinned to WrestleMania Backlash: That would immediately make the show a big thing and cast more eyes on SmackDown
Roman Reigns is the undisputed WWE Universal Champion. He’s the best star in all of WWE, one who hasn’t been hooked in over two years. If he competes in a match in which there are five other men, logic dictates that he must be protected.
Even if The Bloodline takes the L, one of Jimmy or Jey Uso may be the one to take the pin. Pinning Reigns is great for the value of the shock, but it’s not that WWE has no other option in the match. One of the Usos taking the pin would also be useful for the story, especially if the Head of the Table gets angry at his relatives for disgracing him.
