Former All-Pro corner Richard Sherman is in talks with Amazon about a key role in their coverage of “Thursday Night Football.” according to Ian Rapoport of the NFL.
The report notes that Sherman will continue to stay in football form as he remains open to playing opportunities.
Sherman was selected by the Seahawks in the fifth round of the 2011 NFL Draft. He quickly emerged as one of the best corners in the game, earning five All-Pro accolades in seven seasons with Seattle. His 37 career interceptions have led all players since 2011.
The former Seahawks star signed for the Buccaneers last season but has struggled to stay on the field. Sherman was originally put on reserve for injuries due to a lower leg injury, and the second time he enrolled in IR after an Achilles injury sustained in January.

Sherman’s move to a broadcasting role with Amazon could be a blow to the network as it continues to build its football coverage. 2022 marks the first season of Amazon as the sole rights holder for Thursday Night Football.
Amazon has already secured legendary play-by-play broadcaster Al Michaels from NBC along with longtime university football analyst Kirk Herbstreit. Kaylee Hartung of ABC News is reportedly the favorite to become a side reporter for reportage on Thursday night.
