Netflix’s third season I never ever did will premiere on August 12, and the streamer posted photos of the first look on Sunday teasing what was ahead of us.
When viewers last saw Devi (Maitreyi Ramakrishnan), she was once again caught in a love triangle with Paxton (Darren Barnet) and Ben (Jaren Lewinson) in the Season 2 finale. As Ben seemingly continues with Anees (Megan Suri), Devi and Paxton finally officially announce their secret relationship and go public.
Ben is convinced that Devi always preferred Paxton to him and things were finally as they should be until Eleanor (Ramona Young) dropped the bomb — Devi had real feelings for Ben and initially chose him over Paxton.
What this certainly means for the third season is more triangle drama, as well as with poor Anees who just wants to live her best life. But there is also a new teenager joining: Anirudh Pisharod who will play Desa, a teenager from the Indians who is as smart as Devi but goes to an elite private school.
With Deva’s hands full with Paxton and Ben, can Nirdesh be a welcome nuisance to Anees?
Speaking of Eleanor, she ended last season of slow dance with Paxton’s best friend Trent (Benjamin Norris). And while their current relationship status is still unknown, there is a recently published photo showing the two of them talking between classes, and Eleanor is looking forward to it. Maybe now Devi and Paxton will have more solo dates that don’t include Trent staying in the apartment and playing video games.
Deva’s cousin Kamala (Richa Moorjani) is strikingly solo in the picture Netflix posted after her quick departure in the season 2 finale to distance herself a bit from her boyfriend Prashanth (Rushi Kota) and his family who suddenly visited her. Her departure was her way of escaping the arranged marriage because she suspected Prashanth was there to propose marriage.
Instead, she meets with Mr. Manisha Kulkarni (Utkarsh Ambudkar), an English teacher at Devi School, for a karaoke dinner. It is worth noting when Kamala and Mr. Kulkarni communicated this season there were some sparks. Things don’t look good for Prashantha, but there are certainly many more acceptable Indian singles that his parents can ask him that are more in line with his beliefs that women should not be persistent.
Devi and her mom Dr. Nalini Vishwakumar (Poorna Jagannathan) look firmer than ever after the entire Season 2 drama. The photo noticeably lacks Dr. Chris Jackson (Common), the love interest of Dr. Vishwakumar whose relationship fell apart before it could really begin when Devi found out and was totally scared.
A lot of connections have yet to be resolved, and there are only two seasons left from the series. As Deadline exclusively revealed in early March, the series will end its fourth season.
