Motorola Razr 3 leaks with two cameras

The crown jewel of the foldable market in general were the Galaxy Z Fold Series factor-shaped devices, but the winner in terms of sales volume was the traditional folding phone form factor. Motorola has previously confirmed that the “Motorola Razr 3” is foldable in development, and now a new report gives us a first look at the “Maven”.

Evan Blass reports along the way 91 Cell Phones that the device in the picture below is “Motorola Maven”, which will be sold as the next folding flip phone. We call the device “Razr 3”, because the official brand has yet to come out.

This first look at the “Motorola Razr 3” shows a device with a revamped design that is much closer to Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip 3. It seems like Motorola has discarded the “hump” at the bottom of the design in favor of something a little flatter. It’s hard to see an external screen based on this image, but it still seems to be a larger panel than what Samsung uses, based on barely visible evidence of where that screen is located.

It seems to be one of the big changes in the series of cameras. While the previous two generations of the Razr offered only one camera, Motorola has two sensors on this “Razr 3”. They are left in the corner of the design, unlike the Galaxy Z Flip 3. Apparently, the primary sensor is a 50MP shooter with ultra-wide 13MP support, with a 32MP selfie camera inside the device. The screen remains at FHD +.

In terms of specifications, “Maven” is described as a “top-of-the-line” offer. This includes Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip, although it appears that plans for two versions of the device, one with the existing Gen 1 and one with the upcoming “Plus” variant, could be hampered by delivery delays on the newer, as yet unannounced chip. The RAM is 8 GB / 12 GB and the storage space is 256 GB / 512 GB, depending on the variant.

The “Motorola Razr 3” will obviously arrive sometime this summer, especially in China around July or August. “Quart Black” and “Tranquil Blue” will obviously be the colors to launch.

Prior to this upcoming device, Motorola announced two more folders. The original Razr was launched in 2019 and relied heavily on the idea of reviving the design of the classic Razr flip phone. However, when it came to practical reviews, reviews were less than favorable due to hardware issues and slow software updates. The Razr 5G was released in 2020 as a refinement to that original device, shipped with better hardware, but fierce competition from Samsung along with the high price of the Razr contributed to minimal traction.
