New Pittsburgh Steelers defensive DeMarvin Leal is excited to start working with his new team, and the rookie already feels like he knows what’s coming when he enters the locker room.
To make the transition smoother, Leal rejoins his former classmates Buddy Johnson and Dan Moore Jr. in Pittsburgh. In an interview with Missy Mathews of Steelers.com, Leal said he has already spoken to his former Texas A&M backer and striker about their NFL team.
“I’m going to like it here,” Leal Johnson said, and Moore told him. “It’s a great place. I can’t wait to get in. We jumped in on a phone call last night and we just talked about it – It was like, yeah, I just got my linebacker back.”
Leal will work alongside Cam Heyward, Tyson Alualu and Stephon Tuitt during their first NFL season. He will begin his journey with the Steelers this weekend during the Rookie Minicamp and can’t wait to start learning from him.
“It’s going to be amazing,” Leal said. I want to be a sponge. I want to drown it all, learn as much wisdom from them. I will listen to them as big brothers. There is always a standard here. That culture already exists. I want to be a part of this and have confidence, and the only way is to listen those guys. “
