Circa Sports, a branch of Derek Stevens sports betting in downtown Las Vegas, will enter its fourth state later this year.
Stevens, founder and CEO of Circa Sports and representatives of Full House Resorts, on Monday announced plans for Circa to open a retail sports book at the planned American Place Resort in Waukegan, Illinois, and to offer online betting through Illinois apps.
Under the terms of the contract, Full House pays an access fee of $ 5 million that will be amortized compared to the initial eight-year contract with Circo, starting from the moment the bookmaker is announced.
The contract signed by the two companies puts Circa in American Place for eight years with two four-year options at Circa’s discretion. It is a revenue-sharing agreement with Full House that provides a minimum of $ 5 million per year.
“For anyone who has seen this beautiful three-story bookmaker in Circa downtown Las Vegas, I’m looking forward to having the best bookmaker in the Midwest,” said Dan Lee, Full House Resorts CEO. Monday.
“Our goal is for people to walk into our bookmaker and say,‘ Wow, ’” he said.
“We are really in the mood to start operations in Illinois,” Stevens said in an interview Monday. “The Chicago suburban population base will provide us with a great market in northern Illinois and Wisconsin.”
Circa already operates in Nevada, Iowa and Colorado, and the American Place site will be Circa’s first retail location outside of Nevada.
Full House has permission from the state of Illinois to open a temporary casino on the site of American Place, and Stevens said there will be a sports betting shop there on the aptly named The Temporary by American Place.
Temporary will include a dedicated betting area with betting kiosks, physical ticket windows and real-time digital odds boards. Bookmakers will be able to watch matches on 36 TVs, ranging from 60 to 80 inches.
It is scheduled to open in the fall with a permanent opening of the casino over the next three years. Temporary is being built on the site of American Place and will be dismantled and turned into a parking lot when the permanent casino opens.
“We have promised Illinois a top-notch gaming and entertainment facility, and that includes a first-class experience in sports books,” Alex Stolyar, chief development officer of Full House Resorts, said in a statement. “We witnessed Derek and his team revolutionize sports betting and the circus experience and knew he would be the right partner for American Place.”
In an interview, Stolyar said the agreement with Circo should benefit both companies in their expansion efforts.
