With the Commanders heavily involved in the craziest off-season in league history, there will be plenty to watch when Washington takes to the field this season.
Reunion games you will have to watch; two NFC East Divisional games between Wentz’s Commanders and the Philadelphia Eagles.
Both teams will probably say all the polite things that lead to a match, but all the dynamics and drama are always present. Is a person reuniting against a former team always more of a concern than a franchise? Maybe. Emotions will be inevitable as Wentz leads Washington to Lincoln Financial Field for a game against each other.
Wentz was selected second overall by the Eagles in the 2016 NFL Draft. Wentz’s biggest success with the Eagles was in 2017 when he led them to a record of 11-2 before suffering a frontal lobe injury at the end of the season. Wentz helped the Eagles get to the top seed in the NFC, culminating in the franchise’s first Super Bowl championship.

After six seasons, Philadelphia replaced Wentz at the Indianapolis Colts, where he spent one season before being transferred to Washington.

Philadelphia fans always bring extra passion for divisional games … Imagine the noise level with Wentz below center. The competition should be fierce. The Eagles also have a slight advantage over the Commanders in the eyes of those who create odds, giving Washington the third best chance (+450) of winning the division, behind the Dallas Cowboys and Eagles.
Other notable reunion games to be played in 2022 include: Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson against the Texans in Houston, New England Patriots coach Josh McDaniels in the Las Vegas Raiders and Denver Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson against the Seahawks in Seattle.
Of the 17 Commanders ’games, two encounters between Wentz and Eagles will be unavoidable.
