Apple’s director of machine learning, Ian Goodfellow, resigned from the company after three years, in part because of the iPhone maker’s policy of returning to office work.

The head of machine learning is leaving more than three years after joining Apple as part of Apple’s offer to increase its existing development of artificial intelligence and machine learning technology. In an email to staff, Goodfellow confirmed his imminent departure.
